Computer and Information Directorate
General goal:
Computerization of DLS, raising work efficiency, securing information, and providing databases necessary for building the national geographic information system (GIS).
The tasks of the 4 sections of the Directorate are:
Analysis and programming section:
Helping in computerization of DLS.
Providing and facilitating retrieval of information.
Unifying data bases
Employing internet to provide some services.
Operating and maintenance section:
Connecting LRDs electronically.
Protecting information, programs and equipment.
Maintenance of computers.
Studying DLS needs of computers and accessories. And helping to satisfy them.
Electronic services section:
Following –up and controlling the progress of executing E-government
Programs & Projects, especially the DLS website and the e-library.
Serving as Liaison Office between the DLS & the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology concerning E-Government Projects.
Land information section:
Helping to build the national GIS.
Providing data and information to users.
